Sasha is a hospital pharmacy resident with Island Health in Victoria, British Columbia. He was born in Vancouver and spent many years being involved in youth outreach programs within the City of Coquitlam and School District #43. Later, he obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of British Columbia while working as a paramedic, and instructor for first aid and lifeguarding. Having spent many years in leadership and instructor development, he developed his skills in building meaningful relationships with his students and patients. As the primary investigator for this study, Sasha and his team have partnered with the Penelakut Island First Nation to understand the experiences of patients receiving care from a clinical pharmacist. He and his research group are wanting to acknowledge, listen and understand from the patients at this clinic to build positive relationships for the future. In his leisure time he can be found playing basketball with friends, at the gym, skiing in the North Shore or boating in the Strait of Georgia.
