Kenna Miskelly
Kenna Miskelly (she/her) is the Research Ethics Facilitator for the University of Victoria and is passionate about all things research ethics! Kenna is a white settler of German Mennonite and Irish/English heritage who grew up on the home of the Tsimshian Peoples (Terrace, BC), and currently lives on the traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Esquimalt) Peoples (Victoria, BC).
Kenna has a BSc in biochemistry and philosophy and worked for years in biochem research and teaching labs, before completing a Master of Arts in philosophy with a focus on applied ethics. She has been the research ethics facilitator at UVic for 13 years and is extremely grateful to Indigenous-engaged researchers and research ethics board members who have provided feedback and guidance to support better approaches to Indigenous-engaged research ethics review at UVic.
