Lois Klassen
Lois Klassen is the part time Research Ethics Coordinator at Emily Carr University since 2011. An artist and writer, she hosts Reading the Migration Library and Light Factory Publications. Klassen is a member of the CAREB-ACCER (Canadian Association of Research Ethics Boards) Circle of Experts with expertise in participatory art and design methods; the creative practice exemption; and, cultural studies. She is a graduate of the Cultural Studies Doctoral Program at Queen’s University (PhD, 2019) and has training in Visual Art (MAA, Emily Carr University, 2011), Textile Arts (Capilano University), Art History (DipAH, University of British Columbia, 2008), and Occupational Therapy (BMR, University of Manitoba, 1985). Klassen held a Fulbright Fellowship at University of Texas at El Paso in 2020. Klassen is also a part time Postdoctoral Fellow in the Critical Media Art Studio at SFU (School of Interactive Arts and Technology).
