Caroline originates from the Pine Creek First Nation (Ojibway Nation) in the West Region Tribal Council, Treaty 4 area in Manitoba. Her nursing career began at Red River Community College where she graduated in 1986 with a Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate. Caroline continued her education on a part time basis and completed the Registered Diploma in Nursing in 1988 and in 1994, received a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from the University of Manitoba.
Caroline has worked in various capacities in over 39 years of experience in nursing, such as Community/Public Health Nursing, oncology, surgery, and diabetes/chronic diseases. Caroline also worked as the Tribal Nursing Officer for 10 years in the West Region Treaty 2 and 4 Health Services and as the Director of the Diabetes Integration Project through the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba over a 12 year period.
In August 2019, Caroline was hired as the Senior Nurse Advisor in First Nations Health with the Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin Inc. (KIM).
Caroline volunteers and currently serves as the President of the Manitoba Indigenous Nurses Inc. and previously as the Leadership Director and Manitoba/Saskatchewan Representative with the Canadian Indigenous Nurses Association. Caroline has extensive experience in Indigenous Health and has sat on various committees throughout the years. Caroline enjoys the work involved in health and healing practices for our First Nation members, working collaboratively with First Nation organizations, and health professionals from various areas throughout Manitoba and across Canada.

Caroline est originaire de la Première Nation de Pine Creek (Nation ojibway), qui relève du Conseil tribal de la région de l’Ouest, dans la zone du Traité nº 4 au Manitoba. En août 2019, Caroline a été embauchée en tant que conseillère infirmière principale en santé des Premières Nations au sein de Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin Inc. (KIM).
Caroline fait du bénévolat et occupe actuellement le poste de présidente de Manitoba Indigenous Nurses Inc. Elle a auparavant occupé les fonctions de directrice du leadership et de représentante du Manitoba et de la Saskatchewan au sein de la Canadian Indigenous Nurses Association. Caroline possède une vaste expérience dans le domaine de la santé autochtone et a siégé au sein de divers comités au fil des ans. Caroline apprécie le travail lié aux pratiques de santé et de guérison pour les membres de nos Premières Nations, et aime travailler en collaboration avec des organisations des Premières Nations et des professionnels de la santé de diverses régions du Manitoba et de tout le Canada.
