Jenny Godley

Dr. Godley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. Trained as a demographer and a social network analyst, her research examines the mechanisms through which social inequality affects health outcomes and healthcare use. She has been the Chair of the Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board since 2019. She is passionate about teaching about research ethics, both locally and internationally.

    SESSION ABSTRACT

    This workshop will provide a high level introduction to all things research ethics. This will include REB history, evolution and the REB's place within an institution. We will provide a description of board structure, functioning, reviews and resources, as well as the roles of institutional stakeholders (i.e., administrators, board members and researchers). The session will be interactive, with opportunities for questions, sharing practices and discussion.
