Karen Wallace is the Director General for the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research. The Secretariat is responsible for the implementation of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS) and the Tri-Agency Framework: Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR Framework) on behalf of Canada’s three research funding Agencies (the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC)).
Since 2021, Karen leads a dedicated team responsible for the development, interpretation, and education of guidance on responsible conduct of research and human research ethics in Canada. With over two decades of experience in the responsible conduct of research field, Karen has established a reputation as a trusted leader and advocate for responsible and ethical research.
