Dr. Megan Bettle is the Director General, Strategic Initiatives at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, responsible for the development and fostering of priority-driven funding programs. She joined (CIHR) in Spring 2022 as the Executive Director for Clinical Trials. Prior to joining CIHR, Megan worked in a variety of positions at Health Canada, beginning in 2005 as a drug safety reviewer, and moving onto positions in pre- and post-market drug review, cannabis policy, and surveillance of tobacco and problematic drug use. She completed a PhD and post-doctoral studies in molecular biology and the genetics of rare diseases.
