Munazza Tahir
Munazza Tahir is the Associate Director of Inclusive Research and Evaluation at Open Collaboration for Cognitive Accessibility. In her role, she ensures that people with cognitive disabilities get meaningfully included in research and development projects across various sectors. She works with academics, companies, and organizations to support the recognition of Advisors as partners and collaborators in projects. Munazza is also completing a PhD in Community Psychology at the University of Ottawa with a research focus on the experiences of parents with intellectual disabilities in the child protection system. She works with Advisors with lived experience to make her research inclusive and mentors other PhD students in conducting inclusive research. Before coming to Open, Munazza worked at the Autism Program in the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and other provincial disability programs. She has a background in Applied Disability Studies and has been working with people with disabilities for more than 15 years.
