Rebecca Barnes
Rebecca began her career as a cancer researcher, working at the bench, and over the past 15 years has held various leadership positions focused on strengthening health research capacity. Her work has centered on developing innovative, sustainable systems and processes, while fostering meaningful partner engagement. Prior to joining N2 Canada, Rebecca played a key role in leading the Canadian Tissue Repository Network and managing research engagement at Vancouver Island Health Authority, where she led the CIHR Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) initiative for the Vancouver Island region. More recently, she served as Director of the Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation at the University of Victoria. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology/Carcinogenesis.
